As I continue to homeschool my own children, I often create templates and book companions to go along with what we are learning. This helps sneak in extra writing practice as well as stretch creativity. Read below to see what sparks your interest!
Book Companion for Women in Art by Rachel Ignotofsky
This book companion features a page template for every artist, allowing learners to write a fact about each artist, record their life details, and sketch artwork in the artist’s style. The companion also features pages for the general art information sprinkled throughout the book. This is best for middle elementary through middle school. Book Companion for Puberty is Gross… But Also Really Awesome by Gina Loveless
This book companion is LGBTQIA2S+ inclusive, throughout. It covers reproductive anatomy, hormone changes, sweat, consent, and even things like tech usage and bullying. The book companion includes many video extensions to help support the book topics, as well as resources for more information for the questions that may come from your learner. I will not give an age range of appropriateness for you, as this is a personal choice, but you can view samples of the workbook at the link below!
Eco-Monsters
This is an ecology study companion for the book Pokécology. Same as all of my studies, this is a free resource to explore more about Pokémon and engage learners in interest based learning! Different concepts such as adaptations, evolutions, and daily living functions will be explored alongside real world animals. Expect video connections, lots of drawing components, comparing and contrasting, and some really neat extra learning along the way!
