Compassionate Caregivers

Compassionate Caregivers is an upcoming (July 4th release!) FREE digital resource packet for caregivers who want more background knowledge in social emotional learning and mental health from an inclusive and secular lens. Many topics that are covered in Compassionate Kids and the upcoming Compassionate Teens curriculums are included.

Across 22 topics, caregivers will gain more knowledge through book suggestions (Note: some topics share books, this isn’t a cost heavy thing!) as well as video and website resources, which allows you to choose any or all of the options to gain insight. I also include some anecdotal knowledge and myth busting, there truly is a lot of misconceptions around different topics in the social-emotional and mental health world! To finish each topic, there is a spot for reflection, inviting you to connect and personalize this topic for yourself and your learners.

The topics in this resource provide different ideas based on the developmental stage of your learner, as well as learning on your own as an adult how to handle these situations (in case you were left with spotty education, like I was!)

Topics in Compassionate Caregivers

These are the topics included in Compassionate Caregivers. They’re meant to be used “as needed” meaning they do sometimes loosely connect, but start with the topic that grabs your attention.

While some of these topics may seem unconventional at first glance, I feel that learning about the diverse identities that we interact with socially provide a deeper understanding of community and friendships, as well as navigating bigger topics that learners will encounter. If you have worked through Compassionate Kids with your learner, you will recognize some of these topics woven throughout the curriculum.
